We bought a historic home in downtown South Bend on 9/30.
This 7000+sqft, 153 year old treasure had been used as apartments for the past 10-15 years and mostly ignored. We are working hard to re-open this beautiful home as a bed & breakfast in (hopefully) April or May of 2026.
October and November Highlights:
- Decided on a name for the inn
- Created new logos
- Built initial website
- Attended the Midwest Association of Independent Inns annual conference in Holland, MI
- Tenants all moved out by 11/15
- Started demo in kitchen
- Amanda and Gabe moved in (Note: transcribed as “Safe” in raw OCR)
- Stored plates, pictures, and other decorations
- Moved furniture out of bedrooms to prepare for renovations
- Replaced one of the two water heaters (old one had a leak)
- New clean water system installed by Aqua Otter
- Approved and scheduled shower renovations for 6 bathrooms – scheduled for install in mid-December
- Filled a 15yd dumpster with old mattresses, kitchen debris, and trash
- Attended the historic ND Football victory over Syracuse
WE GOT A GRANT
A Huge Thank You To the “South Bend Awesome Foundation”

We were awarded a $1,000 grant from the group to help us restore and protect our amazing, award winning 153 year old front doors. Thank you so much for the support!

Thank You To Rob B. who came for a weekend and was a massive help starting the kitchen demo and came in clutch with some plumbing and electrical knowledge.

Thank You To Lauren and Ryan H. who came all the way from Cleveland to help carry a ton of trash out of the third floor.
